It is often wondered why the laws of physics are consistent and why they have the values they do. For example, why is the speed of light 300,000 kilometers per second and not a different value?
All values were determined at the time of the Big Bang. Just as a road made of cement or a road made of wood would have different characteristics and allow different performances on it in terms of speed, friction, etc., all values were all determined at the time of the Big Bang. If the Big Bang occurred again with different parameters, then we would see different laws of physics and different values for so-called “constants”. If there is a “multi-verse”, then we can expect that the laws of physics and the constants could be different in each one.
